Ingredients

Big Fat Zero Noodles
Serving of steak
Splash of soy sauce
Splash of dry sherry
1/4 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in a little water x 2
1 cup of boiling water
1 beef stock cube
few broccoli flowerets
Splash of peanut oil for stir-frying
Dollop of oyster sauce

Directions

Slice beef into thin slices, about 2 inches long. Place in a bowl and stir in soy sauce, sherry, and cornstarch.
Place the noodles in a bowl, sprinkle with a beef stock cube and cover with 4 cups of boiling water. Stir and let soak.
Steam broccoli until barely tender, about 2 minutes.

Heat oil in a large non stick pan or wok. When very hot, stir-fry beef until no longer pink. Toss in broccoli and stir.

Pour 1 cup of the broth from the soaking noodles into a bowl. Add the oyster sauce to the bowl and stir. Drain the noodles, discarding the remaining broth.

Add the broth and oyster sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer. Stir in the second cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened. Add the drained noodles and stir and cook until evenly coated and heated through.

Health Benefits

Big Fat Zero noodles are amazing in so many other ways… Although they are almost zero calorie, carb, fat and sugar free, that doesn’t mean that they are also zero vitamins, minerals and most importantly…fibre!

Research

In a study carried out on obese patients where subjects were given a supplement of glucomannan fibre and instructed not to change their normal eating or exercise routine, there were significant findings between the supplemented group and a placebo group.
